Julia Spiri DT Post- Genie

Hi folks. No new release from Julia Spiri this week, instead the team have been working with past images to inspire you.

You can see the rest of the teams creations here on the blog, and below is a clean and simple card I have made using Genie from the 1001 Nights Collection.

To create my card I opened the image in Craft Artist and added the sentiment, printed off and coloured with alcohol markers before mat and layering on coloured card stock and adding gems to embellish.

Don't forget to join Julia's Facebook Group and share your creations there. We love to see what you are making with her images.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

It's time to share some more inspiration using the latest release images from Karleigh Sue and this week I have worked with Lumber Life, colouring her in copics and promarkers, and setting her on some masculine papers to create a great card for any male who likes his open fires ( like my husband- once a boy scout always a boy scout!)

Do pop across to the Inspiration Blog if you get a minute to see what the rest of my team mates have been creating to inspire you, and also to get details of a fabulous give away chance. Cheri is offering the chance to win a set of this months new release images- how fab is that!!

Guest DT Post for Crafting By Designs

I was thrilled to be invited to join Crafting By Designs as a guest designer this month for their current challenge of Use Three Designer Papers.

I chose to work with an image by Karleigh Sue called Sexy and I Know It ( you can find her here). I'm definitely feeling the Summer vibe at the moment!

All three papers are from a pad by Cosmo Cricket, called Baby Jane.

I really hope this has insired you to pop across to Crafting by Designs and take part in the challenge yourself.

Camellias Empress by MoonFlower

Hi. Just stopping by to share my creation using the latest digi from Andreia at MoonFlower called Camellias Empress. As always Andreia has added so much detail in her work that colouring was great fun.

I chose to colour her with watercolour pens and distress inks for a soft look, yet using bold colours. I just adore orange and pink together as a combination. I teamed her with co ordinating papers and washi tape from my stash, and used flowers and other embellishments to give some dimension to my card.

Don't forget to check out the Facebook group and share your Moonflower creations there too as we love to see them.

Karleigh Sue New Release!!

Howdy folks! It's time for a new release at Karleigh Sue and boy has Cheri created some stunners with a wild west theme.

I've worked with Scarlet Lady. She's just so sassy I love her!

I coloured her with copics and promarkers and set her on a backing paper and added a sent in Craft Artist . Simple to do and effective I think!

Ashlee Butterfly Fairy by MoonFlower

I'd hoped to share this card earlier in the week but life has been a bit busy recently, so better late than never! I have used Ashlee Butterfly Wings Faerie by MoonFlower to create a simple card, using a pre printed background paper which I just embellished with some butterflies and a sentiment. Easy to do but effective don't you agree?

The Spring Orchid by Julia Spiri

I'm off work this week and with my husband and daughter away on a camping trip together I'm managing to find lots of lovely time to craft. Today I have been working with The Spring Orchid by Julia Spiri. She's so delicate and was a joy to colour.

I've also been playing with my Inkadinkado set, which is one of those impulse buys that us crafters tend to make that then sits unused for a while. I fancied dusting it off today and used it to create the background flower, which I coloured with watercolour pens and my wink of stella pen, before fussy cutting and mounting on some linen textured card, which I die cut fancy corners on. I finished the whole card with some gems.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll have more of this weeks makes to share tomorrow!

1001 Nights New Release by Julia Spiri

It's new release day today and as always Julia has come up with some awesome images for us to play with.

I have made my card featuring the sultry  Scheherazade from the 1001 Nights collection, which you can find here. She's so pretty and was lovely to colour. I had some Indian style stamps and a matching embossing folder from Sheena Douglas so teamed them up with her and they complimented the image beautifully. Some pretty floral embellishments and gems completed it nicely.

Do check out the rest of the DT's work over on the blog. As always they have some amazing projects to share.

Also, don't forget to joing Julia's Facebook page if you haven't already. You are very welcome to share your own creations using her digis there.
